Auf „heißer“ Spur führt der Weg zu einem erloschenen Vulkan und wird damit zu einer Reise in vergangene Zeiten.  In unmittelbarer Nähe zur größten Goldlagerstätte Europas kommt das spektakuläre „Klondike-Feeling“ auf.

Dieser Rundwanderweg im Naturpark Diemelsee startet in der Ortschaft Welleringhausen – eines der kleinsten Dörfer im Landkreis Waldeck-Frankenberg. Im Naturpark am Fuße des längst erloschenen Grotenberg-Vulkans stoßen Wanderer immer wieder auf Spuren der Erd- und Grenzgeschichte. Die verschiedensten Pflanzenarten entfalten dort ihre Blüten. Typisch sind Heidenelke, Feld-Thymian und Scharfer Mauerpfeffer. Wer mit der ausgebildeten Geopark-Führerin unterwegs ist, erfährt viel Spannendes über die Flora des Naturparks und über die geologischen Begebenheiten.
