Weiße Frau - along slopes and rough pastures around Brilon-Rösenbeck
Arbeitsgemeinschaft Biologischer Umweltschutz im Kreis Soest e.V Verified partner
At the summit of the Weiße Frau, you have a good view of the hilly landscape called "Padberger Schweiz" (Padberg Switzerland). On the slopes you hike through scree forests and other valuable forest communities, which are home to orchids like the White Helleborine and the Narrow-leaved Helleborine. The deciduous forests hold breeding populations of such rare bird species as the Stock Dove and the Red Kite.
When walking around the Egge you will experience a mosaic of rough pastures and Mat Grass fields, as well as damp and wet grasslands in the area of springs. In summer, your hike will be accompanied by the songs of Skylarks and Tree Pipits. Botanical eye-catchers include Maiden Pink, Gold thistle and Centaury while the nose is delighted by the Broad-leaved Thyme, whose scent rises when the sun heats the ground in the summer.
